Shapes Worksheets
Trace the outline of a flat shape and describe what stays the same when it turns. Begin with the pictured triangle, circle, and square resting on a corner. Choose naming practice or trace each straight edge and record how many there are. The counting set gives the circle zero straight sides; its curved boundary is not counted as a straight edge. An adult can read the three shape names while the child points, traces, or says an answer. For enrichment, extend repeating groups of three shapes in a separate pattern activity. These free printable pages include matching answer keys and support a small set of familiar shapes; rectangles beyond squares, hexagons, solid shapes, and a full range of orientations are not included yet.
