How to teach with these worksheets

1. Choose a skill

Browse by grade, topic, or Common Core standard. Check the number range and sample problems to see whether the worksheet fits your student. Use an earlier skill if your student needs more support.

2. Plan your explanation

Read the teaching notes before printing. Prepare any counters, fraction strips, or other materials you want to use. Work through an example together and ask the suggested question to check understanding.

3. Create and print a set

Choose an activity or number range where available. Select New numbers or New set for another set of problems. Some drawing and discussion activities stay the same. Select the worksheet, answer key, or both, then choose US Letter or A4 and use the print or PDF button. Check the print preview before printing.

Copy set link saves a link to that set of problems. Some display options may need to be selected again when you reopen it. Creating new sets requires JavaScript.

4. Review your student's work

Keep the answer key separate during independent practice. Afterward, ask your student to explain a problem they found difficult. Use the teaching notes to revisit the relevant step, then assign a few similar problems. A shorter set is often enough to check whether your explanation helped.
