How to use this page
This page is for primary pupils, parents and teachers who want to practise the times tables. Choose the tables, then print the practice sheet and the answer key, each on one A4 page.
New numbers shuffles the questions, so the same table can be practised again and again. To save a PDF, choose Save as PDF in the print window.
Tips for learning the tables
- Learn one table at a time, a few minutes every day.
- The order does not change the answer: 3 × 7 = 7 × 3.
- The 4 times table is double the 2 times table; for 9, subtract the number once from the 10 times table.
- Check with the chart, then practise on the sheet with the answers hidden.
Multiplication examples
- 3 × 7 = 21: three groups of 7 make 21.
- 9 × 6 = 60 − 6 = 54: take one 6 away from the 10 times table.
- 0 × 8 = 0: zero groups of 8 make zero.
Common mistakes
- Multiplying is not adding the two numbers: 3 × 7 is 21, not 10.
- Every answer in the 0 times table is 0; in the 1 times table, the answer stays the same.
- For the 9 times table, the digits in an answer add to a multiple of 9: 5 + 4 = 9 in 54 and 9 + 9 = 18 in 99.
