Apply each rule in its own column and pair values from the same row. Connect each pair to a point on the coordinate grid.
Example to work through together
Use the model below as you explain the example. Have your student point to the quantities as you discuss them.
Starting at 0, add 2 for x and add 3 for y. The pairs are (0, 0), (2, 3), (4, 6), and (6, 9).
