Simple pieces such as triangles, squares, and semicircles can be moved mentally or with tracing paper to make a larger shape. The puzzle options focus attention on matching edges.
Let the learner cut out copied pieces or trace them onto scrap paper when helpful. Put edges together without gaps or overlaps, then name and describe the new outside boundary.
